@_happy_dagger_: Replying to @a little Lilly goes a long way And no it doesn’t taste like anything. Let me know if you have any other beginner questions. I’m by no means an expert but I have been using these for a long time. Shoutout to @gouletpens #writing #journaling #fountainpens #stationary #beginnerfountainpen
The pilot varsity is a gateway drug. I started using them in college and have loved fountain pens ever since.

Not true you can actually change the ink in them (Lamy) with a needle you can flush them out and refill them easily

Goulet Pens have some history behind them that you may wanna look up (based on the emojis in your profile)…sadly, I got into fountain pens as it was all coming up. I would not recommend them.

Pilot Kakuno was my starter and it is still one of my favorites! I prefer a Japanese nib but I have gotten into TWSBI a bit for their stub nibs

honestly almost all children in Europe learn to write using fountain pens, at least in France, Belgium, Czech republic, Germany, etc. all children in kindergarten use fountain pens and learn cursive when learning how to write

Fun fact, Vietnamese kids back in the 80s and 90s learn to write with fountain pens as well, I did back then. It helps training our hand muscle to produce beautiful handwriting, and cursive was mandatory in school when kids were young.

I got a TWSBI once I realized I wanted a fountain pen and loved the pilot kakuno wanted to "invest" since I tend to want a million things and apparently I got a dry pen? everywhere on the internet it says that sometimes the nib is just dry and I need to take it to a nib specialist but I need to keep pushing the piston up to get it juicy. im distraught.😭😭😭

Just grabbed myself a Lamy. when I was learning to write in school we were told if we do extra good at it, we would be given a fountain pen, specifically a Parker Vector one. Little me was so obsessed I had to have it, and ive always had a Parker Fountain pen since. still my favorite thing to write with.

I had a really nice fountain pen when I was 8ish but it vanished. I can't remember the name, but it was iron or steel, it was silver and the tip was gold and silver it was so important to me i would like to buy it again. I got it as a gift in a big writing set I think bought on teleshopping

Do you have any recommendations for left hand people? I know inks can take time to dry and being left handed I’m afraid to smear ink so that’s what stops me from buying one

pilot metropolitan is also a great starter. I much prefer Japanese nibs, as they're finer. so they're more tolerant of regular paper
