🚨🆘 HUNTER #A2282884 NEEDS A HERO 🆘🚨 💔 Scheduled for euthanasia: 7/19/26 📍 East Valley Animal Shelter 🐾 4-year-old Belgian Malinois / Siberian Husky mix ⚖️ 53 lbs 🏡 At the shelter since 7/6/26 Reason listed: Barrier reactivity in his kennel. Hunter was surrendered by his owner because they had “no time.” Less than two weeks later, he’s already scheduled to lose his life. While he was scared when he first arrived, that’s not the dog volunteers have gotten to know. ❤️ Hunter is friendly once he has a few minutes to warm up. He loves affection, enjoys being petted, knows “sit,” takes treats gently, and is highly food motivated. His absolute favorite game is fetch—he happily brings the ball back every time and will even search for it if it’s hidden or tossed into a bucket. 🐶 Outside of the kennel, Hunter walks calmly through the shelter without reacting to other dogs. He regularly participates in playgroups, where he’s playful, social, gives appropriate greetings, and enjoys mingling with the other dogs. Because he’s still intact, he can be selective with some male dogs, but staff describe him as steerable. According to his previous owner, Hunter lived with another dog and a child, is mostly house-trained, crate-trained, and is a very loving, energetic companion. Hunter has barely had a chance to settle into the shelter, yet his time is already up. Please don’t let his story end here. If you’re looking for an active, loyal best friend, Hunter is waiting.
