@vallitfit: One thing about Anya is that she really thrives on routine. Having Down syndrome and autism means she feels most comfortable when she knows exactly what the plan is, and once she gets excited about something, that plan becomes her whole day. My parents-in-law always let us take their boat out and Anya had been looking forward to it all week. Unfortunately, after hours of trying to get it running, the boat just wouldn't cooperate, and we had to head back home. When plans change unexpectedly, it can be incredibly hard for her. It's not about being "dramatic,” it's that her mind had already planned out the entire day, and suddenly that changed. Moments like these can be overwhelming, and that's okay. We just take it one step at a time, give her time to feel her feelings, and eventually find a new plan together ❤️ Hopefully our next boat day goes a little more according to plan (And if this somehow ends up on @MrBeast feed... hi 👋)
