Brenda Stumbo saying the quiet part: they pick spots with the least resistance, and a public university just did an end run around local government. Add the Los Alamos National Laboratory tie-in and residents are right to ask why a $1.25B project with nuclear-weapons research ties is landing in their backyard with zero local oversight. This is what happens when state institutions answer to Lansing, not the neighbors who actually live there. Ypsilanti Township deserves a seat at the table on the University of Michigan Los Alamos data center, not a press release after the deal's done.
