All I want to do is get away from my family. I love them to pieces, but they’re just so exhausting. Since my mom was focused on my brother with my special needs, my dad with my other brother, I had no one to turn to. I never had the parenting I deserved. And because of that I became my own person. I was never taught how to express how I feel or how to communicate with others. I had to learn everything on my own. I’ve had some issues with my mental health recently. I keep losing everything, forgetting/putting off simple tasks, and because of that sudden change I have been taking it out on everyone else. I was told I make it stressful for just being there. And because I have never “proved” to my parents that I can be trusted in the real world, they don’t believe I can live alone. They strongly discourage me from moving to SC and starting a new life. I have never once been believed in, and all I want is some recognition. If I can’t prove to my parents that I’m my own person, I at least have to prove it to myself. And that’s my why.
