Why do people need the prospect of hell to understand that treating your neighbor right is the way? I'm a believer, and I asked myself that question. I like peace in my life so I create it. Why should I be afraid of Hell in the afterlife when there are people basically living in it right now? So many Christians have already created the Hell they insist everybody else is going to if they don't adhere to certain doctrines.

Being reminded of hell is not supposed to make you feel captive, it’s supposed to motivate you consciousness and keep you moral. Without that, you will feel like you can do whatever you want

Imagine those who laughed at Noah mocking him to later then seeing dark clouds appearing in the sky. Many running towards the ark and couldn't get in knowing it was over. Just keep the commandments of God and repent its not hard.
