@amieinchina: I bought a whole suitcase of snacks back from China specifically to compare them with their British counterparts 😆 I was pretty surprised by some of the findings! #china #UK #snacks #comparison #tastetest
As a Chinese, I gotta say the British way of opening chips bags just makes more sense to me. You’re not always gonna finish the whole bag at once, and you can just clip it and save it. The Chinese way makes it hard to properly clip it.

Generally speaking, for the same type of sweet snack, the Chinese version tends to be less sweet; the level of sugar tolerance common among Westerners is unacceptable to Chinese people.😂

many years ago I used to work for Cadbury and can confirm that plain Cadbury chocolate tastes different all across the world. THE BEST is Irish and New Zealand Cadbury, so creamy and delicious. The secret has to do with the cows that they get the milk from. I found that so interesting!

they reduce the amount of sugar and extra things in the food which the UK was supposed to do and the portion sizes are accurate this is how a lot of people stay so small in China Japan and Korea

Dove chocolate is an American company. We have both Dove soap and dove chocolate here, but when they wanted to expand into the UK they ran afoul of trademark issues, so they changed the name for the UK

the Chinese snickers bar I ate tasted like it was off, I assumed it was a storage issue. After watching this I feel vindicated. Also the poor tasting experience was the reason I stopped eating chocolate/sweets for my entire vacation in china 🤣🤣

if they're made in different countries they use the same recipe but the ingredients are sourced locally so will have a different flavour from the true one you're used to. also I think some recipes are adjusted to the national palette

I don’t think you shop in the uk - we have large bags of walkers ready salted available in Morrisons and Tesco’s. Mini Oreo’s in most supermarkets ideal for packed lunches.
