@hopeforthevoicelesssouls: 🚨 THIS IS WHAT NEGLECT LOOKS LIKE. 🚨 A few days ago, we shared the story of nine Chiweenies rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. We hoped that was the end. It wasn’t. More have now been surrendered from the same property. Every one of these little dogs has lived the same life: outside, under-socialized, flea-infested, and deprived of the love every dog deserves. They’ve survived—but they haven’t really lived. The three newest arrivals are incredibly nervous. They don’t understand what’s going on and normal household sounds are unfamiliar. Human affection is confusing. They’re going to need patient, compassionate fosters willing to let them move at their own pace. These aren’t dogs that need someone to “fix” them. They need someone willing to show them that the world can be kind. Like the others before them, they’ll require extensive veterinary care, including treatment for skin issues, flea-related conditions, spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and everything that comes with helping neglected dogs finally become healthy. It’s a lot. But we’ve seen these stories before. We’ve watched terrified dogs become beloved family members. We know what’s possible when people step up.
