It’s a big deal because only 1% of movie going consumers will be able to see this movie since there’s only 30 iMAX screens in the United States. As beautiful as this film is I don’t understand the reasoning of making it with iMAX when most people will never be able to enjoy it in that format.

Only 40 theatres on Earth can show the 70 mm version. Most cities have older IMAX theatres that will still crop the film slightly.

I live in a city with one of those 41 theaters, and every single seat in showtimes up until mid August except for the very front row are sold out!

We have one in Sacramento California, and it was wonderful. Although definitely not accurate to the book itself. A bit of a let down.
