i think you're drastically overstating AI's ability to replace scripted content, but you're spot on about sports. Scripted content lives and dies by the human touch and we've seen that over the last few years as even the least informed people recognize the decrease in authenticity when it comes to AI-driven narrative content that's produced without human touch. To your point about the production of F1 being AI-driven, AI has been misplaced in narrative work, taking over the parts it shouldn't instead of increasing the capacity for those humans involved to produce the content with their human touch. It won't look the same as F1 (camera angles, overlays, etc), but it IS stuff like gaussian splats and advanced keying abilities at the click of a button (see CorridorKey), all the way down to optimizing release schedules based on historic performance, slated releases, which demographics are spending the most when, all the junk that suits sit in a room and get paid astronomically to half-heartedly discuss.
