The thing is that, yes, she's got a very bold design, but they don't sexualise it, she's dressing like a man would, she just happens to have a large chest. They don't draw attention to it.

Some of yall gotta realize that Daisuke is not above fanservice and sexualization 😭 the choice to enhance her “features” and place such emphasis on them in game was definitely intentional, but that doesn’t automatically remove the value from her character

Also she is a fun parallel with Anji (They are kind of a thing together), where she is a woman with more masculine associated characteristics, protector role, heavy drinking, samurai, her outfit, rudeness; while Anji is a male with more femenine associated characteristics, his outfit, being a dancer, using fans as weapons, being a poet, extremly polite. Just in case someone says this, I know those are not exclusive traits to those genders but they are put in these characters with that purpose

I would disagree on the "protector" type thing. She is a relentless, vengeful, blinded by hatred person, firstly against That Man and then against HC. Only in After Story, watching Delilah almost destroying herself and everything else due to her hate for HC, she realizes how her vengeance wouldn't serve her justice, and decides to take Delilah under her wing and, while she would still fight HC on sight, she values her newfound family first. Other than that, Baiken is so cool to play and watch playing, her tether shenanigans are super fun

Baiken was given the role of "protector" very recently in the lore, not in her backstory. In fact, that's the most recent information we have about her, since Another Story is the latest we know about her in the story. (btw, Bedman in XRD can also count as a disabled character, cuz he is in a permanent coma, his bed can technically count as a mobility aid to get around)

A lot of the time physically disabled people are seen very poorly by societies beauty standards and are often viewed as ugly because of their disabilities. but on the other hand there are people who will fetishise disabilities to fit their sexual fantasies. However baiken seems pretty cool, I think her design is interesting (not because of her giant boobs) I really like her pink hair, that’s honestly the first thing I saw

I became a baiken fan for the fan service I stayed because she’s one of the best written and most interesting characters in guilty gear and that is a HIGH bar with a roster like that

I always interpreted Baiken's design in a narrative and practical way. Narratively, similar to Kaine from Nier, she purposely dresses in a provocative way to draw attention away from her missing arm by accentuating her more feminine features. And practically, it has been scientifically proven that displaying sexual imagery can lessen your opponents reaction time. Which plays into Baiken's personality as a fighter willing to think outside the box and use underhanded tactics in order to win.

Keep in mind, in the original game she was a secret boss. A handful of secret bosses in the first game of their series is bound to get done dirty, for Baiken she is fanservice, for Reptile/Syzoth he is constantly getting his ass beat or killed, but if anything is the top 5 powerful Mortal Kombat characters. I say "handful", but I don't know anymore

Okay so like as a guilty gear enjoyer I do have to say, like, if we’re talking about strive baiken hp is like avrg and her guts rating is high (4). And she issss very good att being a defensive charather (parry on defense and j.s , tatami and kabari all are fairly good att playing defensively) which does kinda fit into the defensive protected stick, maybe?
