Many GTA protagonists lose something: Claude - Catalina and their relationship, whether it was love or not, the lengths he went just to get revenge are unquestionable. Tommy - Sonny and Lance, especially Lance, for obvious reasons. I do not count Ken because Tommy intentionally alienated him once he was no more useful. CJ - Smoke, Ryder, his mother, many of his friends. And to name a few. Most paid a price for the life they've lived, one way or another. I think Luis didn't lose anything because he wasn't always that into crime and he left that life before he got too deep. Granted, he still works with many contacts and kills people but wishes to avoid it.
