@marinero_musulman90: How do engineers predict exactly when a bearing will fail? The L10 life formula — and the cubic relationship that makes load the most critical design variable. BEARING L10 LIFE FORMULA: L10 (millions of revolutions) = (C/P)³ L10h (hours) = (10⁶ / 60N) × (C/P)³ Where: C = dynamic load rating | P = applied load | N = speed (RPM) WORKED EXAMPLE: C=25,000N | P=5,000N | N=1500 RPM C/P = 25,000/5,000 = 5 L10 = 5³ = 125 million revolutions L10h = (1,000,000/(60×1500)) × 125 = 1,389 hours The cubic relationship is critical: DOUBLING the load reduces life to 1/8. Halving the load increases life 8 times. This is why bearing selection always starts with the load calculation. L10 means 90% of identical bearings survive this life — 10% fail before it. For critical applications, use L1 or L5 life instead.
