I just want to explain how I used Yin and Yang in my Ms. Q&A answer yesterday, because I couldn't elaborate it in just 30 seconds. I think yin and yang is often understood as accepting both sides equally. It is, but I believe that it also teaches that opposing forces can coexist (like friends and enemies, good and bad), but coexistence doesn't always mean agreement. You can acknowledge another person's existence without giving them a place in your life. True balance is knowing when to understand both sides and when to stand firm on your principles. What I mean is that not every opposite is meant to be reconciled, and choosing one side doesn't erase the existence of the other. Balance is not about being neutral toward everyone. It's about staying true to your values while recognizing that every story has more than one side. Also, not being friends with your friend's enemy doesn't automatically mean they have to become your enemy too. You can be civil with them, and being civil doesn't have to take the form of friendship. Just like Yin and Yang, you can never truly appreciate the value of friendship without understanding the meaning of an enemy. One gives meaning to the other. I am sorry if it sounded wrong, I just applied the concept in a real life scenario. That you should always know the black and white in everything. And black and white doesn't have gray (neutral) area. Because overlapping (mixing white and black) will lost the balance and will cause chaos.
