i have stumbled into this discourse but I am immediately convinced this is an extension of this sort of people being unable to enjoy media without self inserting into one if the characters, and they can't do that if it's switched.... but I can't prove it

Fandom spaces are OBSESSED about who tops and who bottoms in queer relationships. It's so weird and gross, especially because they always take the safest, heteronormative option of feminine/younger/shorter = bottom, masculine/taller/older = top. What's worse is that even some queer folks partake in this. I've seen people get blocked and harassed over suggesting a character might be a switch to a "fixed roles" shipper. Do you even like the characters themselves if something like switching triggers you so much ?

I've genuinely had someone say to me I must be the bottom because my boyfriend is taller than me (5 CENTIMETERS btw). another time someone said the same thing after seeing me in a picture because I didn't look "masculine enough". mind you we're both 15 and neither of us look masculine because we're kids 💀

OMG THANK YOU. And I also hate the fact that people are complaining about the fact that they do crack or crack a lot. They are 18 year old characters in a two year relationship who have physical attraction. I would find it strange if these two characters didnt crack since the attraction is there and it was implied since season 3 that they want to crack.
