It primarily attacks the lining of the intestines, leading to acute digestive distress. Main Symptoms: Watery or bloody diarrhoea, severe stomach cramps, high fever, and a frequent, painful urge to pass stool. How It Spreads: Accidentally swallowing the bacteria via the f3cal-0ral route. This happens through poor hand hygiene, touching contaminated surfaces, eating tainted food, or engaging in 0ral Sx activity. Infected individuals are highly contagious while sick and can continue to shed the bacteria in their stool for up to 4 weeks after recovery.
