Ya my chocolate lab comes from a long line of a breed that was watching the horses while they were watching the moose but my lab likes to eat rocks.

My horses do that too in Louisiana. We have an average 100 days/year rain, so lots of good underwater natural Bahia grass regularly.

Not completely sure you explained as “learned culture “ horses are native to the americas. It’s a very interesting story because the propagated through the world while they got extinct in the Americas. May be this is an old instinct behavior
