🎶 WHAT MORE YUH WANT? 🔥💜 This is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written. And today, I’m finally ready to share it. For four years, I was in a relationship marked by narcissistic abuse, emotional manipulation, disrespect, and being used. The abuse was present throughout the relationship. For more than three years, I continued giving emotionally, financially, and in countless other ways. I gave because I cared, even while enduring mistreatment. I wasn’t keeping score, asking for recognition, or expecting anything in return. But kindness should never be mistaken for weakness, and generosity should never become an entitlement. When I finally said NO to giving more, the insults, accusations, and attacks on my character continued. I was even told that others had done more for him and hadn’t thrown it in his face. That’s what inspired “What More Yuh Want.” This song is about the audacity of someone who can repeatedly hurt you, take advantage of your kindness, dismiss everything you’ve done, and still believe you owe them more. I chose a blend of trap, reggae, and R&B with Jamaican patois because I wanted the music to carry the frustration, attitude, and strength behind my words. I wasn’t interested in writing another sad love song. I had something to say. But something much bigger came out of that experience. I began to recognize who I really was. I realized the power I held and that nobody had the right to treat me that way. I was becoming her. Not somebody new. I was rediscovering the woman who had been there all along. That’s why I created Becoming Her. 🌺 And it’s why I wrote The Glow Up Method: From Broken to Unstoppable, a book about rediscovery, boundaries, healing, and reclaiming your life. Today, that vision is growing into Becoming Her Jamaica 2027, an eight-day women’s retreat centered on rest, joy, movement, music, confidence, freedom, and sisterhood. I share this because I know other women have lived their own version of this story. She was never becoming someone else.
