Your brain is not designed to create the future. It's designed to predict it. And the way it predicts the future is by referencing the past. The thoughts you've repeated, the emotions you've rehearsed, the stories you've told yourself, and the actions you've taken become the framework through which your brain interprets reality. This is why change feels so uncomfortable. Not because you're incapable of changing, but because your brain is constantly trying to preserve what is familiar. Even if what's familiar is keeping you stuck. The life you have today is, in many ways, the culmination of your repeated thoughts and repeated actions. Which raises an important question: If you continue thinking the same thoughts you've always thought, what are the chances you'll create a different future? This is where neuroplasticity becomes fascinating. Your brain physically rewires itself around what is repeatedly practiced. New thoughts practiced on purpose can become new beliefs. New beliefs can become new actions. New actions can become a new identity. Maybe that's why faith has always been such a powerful concept. Not because it's blind optimism. But because it's the willingness to mentally rehearse a future before you can physically see it. The future cannot emerge from a mind that is emotionally committed to the past. If you want a different life, you may need to stop asking yourself what feels familiar and start asking yourself what is possible. New thoughts. Practiced on purpose. Long enough to become a new reality.
