I don’t call anyone my spiritual son or daughter because I don’t see Jesus instructing His disciples to create spiritual families around themselves. He told us to make disciples of Christ, not sons and daughters of ourselves (Matthew 28:19–20). Our responsibility is to point people to Jesus, who is our Teacher and our Father in heaven (Matthew 23:8–10). We are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

Fatherhood does exist - but it doesn't mean Jesus is substituted: Apostle Paul had spiritual sons Timothy & Titus etc. Elijah had Elisha. Apostle Peter had Mark. :That scripture you are referring to, it goes to the length of worship & we only worship one Father who is God.But fatherhood is biblical in that say bible you are reading. People need guidance , people need to be imparted knowlege & in order for that to happen thats when fathers are involved. Joash was a king but His father was Elisha.

I have been struggling to fully understand your perspective on the roles of fatherhood and motherhood. I have a question: are you not serving as a mother to the people you are shepherding? From my viewpoint, what you are currently doing resembles the duties of parents—guiding their children along the right path. In doing so, you seem to expect us to follow your lead, correct? Do your congregation members address you as sister or mama? Perhaps you can teach me more about your approach.
