It is certainly disappointing, but there is a serious reason for it. The ban isn't in effect every day; it applies on days with very strong currents that sweep you out into deep water and pull you in, preventing you from getting back to shore. It is extremely dangerous—lives have been lost there. No swim is worth a life. Stay safe and enjoy your swim at another nearby beach! 🏖️Enjoy your time in Greece 🇬🇷

I visited myrtos beach 2 years ago and I gotta say that it’s indeed a very dangerous beach and you should follow the signs. Back then there’s wasn’t no signs and the sea had very big waves, I’m trained to swimming in big waves so I went in and I had no issues. But I witnessed people coming in even though they don’t know how to swim and they got stuck in the waves. They water is deep and the waves are dangerous so please follow the signs
