Pharmacist saved my daughter's life when they knew her dairy allergy and called me bc a med my daughter was prescribed was made from a milk protein. The dr didnt know and I dont blame them. But that is why a dedicated pharmacist for your family is vital especially if your child is medically complex.

They’ve always been doctors. Pharmacists are the last line of defense against medical errors. Why would you NOT want someone to make sure you’re taking appropriate meds that don’t interact with your other meds?

Pharmacists are not medical doctors but agree with your post. Opioids should be questioned and I question why she is questioning the pharmacist’s scrutiny of the prescription.

As an NP, I appreciate when pharmacists call me for safety concerns, but they do sometimes overstep in my experience. Her specific issue sounds like the pharmacists were right.

In Canada all of our pharmacists are doctors, not medical doctors, but they are all doctors and are quite often the most brilliant people you will ever meet.
