Perhaps it was a much larger epos, not written only sung by several rapsodous, but as centuries went by they dropped many parts and kept the most interesting bits, still verbally and after a time it was finally written (excuse my English, I hope you understood)

He taught me this too! Took way too long to teach it though - 10 years to read the book, 3 years walking around the classroom and another 7 sat at some random students desk!
