I was arrested by ice last year. One of the first U.S. citizens to get arrested. They tried to accuse me of assaulting a federal agent. A couple hours into my detention the video went viral and they noticed nothing happened, but they needed to save face so they kept me longer but had to let me go the next day. As I was being released they said someone will contact me for my court date. I was never charged because they knew I did nothing. The DHS still tried to justify my arrest well after. I’m now suing.

The charges ARE the punishment. They don't care if they can prove it because they have already assaulted, intimidated, collected data like fingerprints and DNA, and caused financial and emotional distress to the accused.
