My dog never left my mom said when she had surgery and use to walk up the stairs one by one real slow with her and be standing next to her when she go to the bathroom

We have a cane, and when both my and my son came home from emergency surgery he came up to us and just pushed his side into like. Hey pet me. I need to know your ok.

I always let my dogs smell the surgery site after I came home. That way they would understand why I need to be treated gently. They want to take care or guard you. And yes, I have had a Dane, also a German Shepard, a Lab and what we think was an Anatolian Shepherd. The Anatolian guarded my mother after she had dental surgery. Wouldn’t leave her side for days.

I had to put my self in a little cage from the 3 of mine but once they were all clam they smelled my knee and just knew! Then all 3 became the dane couch potato’s with me for a bit! Best of luck on recovery!
