If you’re at a station that doesn’t have that, a chapstick can sometimes be used to hold it on for you

Just saw someone who's clowning the US bc we have to go inside the store to pay before pumping gas, and yall can just pump then pay.. my question here is, can you not tap to pay at the pump over in the UK?
