Brother i am speaking to a girl for marraige, with her brother/uncle present during the meetings. I want to talk about mahr but in bengali community i think the 2 families meet up during dekha dekhi and do a big negociation. I would prefer to avoid getting to a delha delhi stage then talks become messy because of mahr. I want that I know if the girl's mahr expections align with what i am willing to give before going forward before things start progressing and get more serious. Would you recommend i discuss this topic with the girl now in the early stage before we do a formal dekha dekhi?
