Naval base Everett was built for her but they ended up putting the Lincoln there, now its several destroyers that are almost never in port.

The USS NIMITZ was also the aircraft carrier used in the movie Final Countdown 1980, the ship and crew go thru a time storm back to Dec 6th 1941, one of my favorite movies

We have bombers that were built in the 60’s still flying. Why can’t we give this old girl a 20 year face lift. Cheaper than a new. And need fewer yard birds.

So much of my life is centered around that ship. This is killing me. She has served us well and deserves to retire but the thought of her being scrapped is just unbearable.

I was on the USS Midway for 2 yrs and the USS KITTYHAWK for 1.5 yrs I miss being on both and being underway.
