I’m German and was once out with a couple of international friends and there was this girl I hadn’t met before. We all cheersed and she was the only one to look me in the eye, and I was like “wait a second, are you German?”. She was. She spoke near perfect English and it was loud in the pub, so I didn’t clock the German accent, but the eye contact made me realise it 😂
