@gracetruthdaily: Have You Ever Wondered What the Most Dangerous Thing Sin Can Do Is? Most Christians think the greatest danger is committing sin. But they are wrong. The greatest danger is not that you sinned. The greatest danger is that you stopped feeling it. Do you remember what happened the first time you knowingly sinned after believing in God? You couldn't sleep. You felt convicted. You wanted to pray. You knew something was wrong. But what about now? The same sin. The same temptation. The same compromise. And it hardly bothers you anymore. That should frighten you. Because the greatest danger is not that you sinned. The greatest danger is that your heart no longer responds to sin. Many Christians are not falling away all at once. They are drifting away one compromise at a time. One excuse at a time. One secret sin at a time. Until one day, they no longer feel convicted. The Bible warns: “...be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.” — Hebrews 3:13 (KJV) Think about that. Sin never tells you it is hardening your heart. It slowly makes you less sensitive to God's voice. Again. And again. And again. The Bible warns: “Having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” — 1 Timothy 4:2 (KJV) A seared conscience does not feel pain anymore. And a spiritually numb heart no longer feels the weight of sin. That is terrifying. Because many people think peace means everything is fine. But sometimes, what they call peace is actually spiritual numbness. They no longer struggle. They no longer repent. They no longer hate the sin that once broke their heart. They simply learn to live with it. Listen carefully. Do not be afraid because you are struggling against sin. That struggle may be evidence that God is still working in you. Be afraid when sin no longer troubles you. When you can lie without conviction. When you can gossip without conviction. When you can live in lust without conviction. When you can disobey God without conviction. That is a dangerous place to be. Because the greatest judgment is not always immediate punishment. Sometimes, the greatest judgment is a heart that no longer responds to God's voice. So today, ask yourself honestly: When was the last time my sin truly grieved me? When was the last time I sincerely repented? When was the last time I asked God to change my heart? If your heart still feels conviction today, do not ignore it. That conviction is not meant to destroy you. It is God's mercy, calling you back before it is too late.
