Thank you. I just lost my Great Dane due to heat exhaustion. He did progress so rapidly. Went from heavy panting to laying down and panting/aspirating amazingly fast. I know it was my fault and I regret it so much.

I watched a St. Bernard died on a hike in Hawaii. Middle of summer. Very little shade on the trail. Owner had zero water for himself or his EXTREMELY FURRY DOG. It was traumatic and so avoidable.

My little special needs Shih Tzu has a heart issue. She will go lay in the sun when it 95 out. I learned to monitor her closely. She get 3-5 minutes at the most. The two get only a little time out and then back inside usually.

I stopped taking my dogs out in summer years ago. we're in ga. it's outside in the yard to potty, a few minutes of play, and back indoors. my Italian Greyhound would "wilt" after just a few minutes outside. they don't enjoy it.

I could not believe how many dogs I saw at my farmers market today when it was like 90° at 10am. I saw ONE with booties on training in the shade off to the side by a pool. The rest were just being dragged around in the heat.

Yep, my dog wants to keep going and we are like nope, you are going home after 15 minutes in this heat. We have water, rest breaks, and walk in the shade as much as possible too
