This gaslighting happens more than you think not only in vets but Dr's also.

my dog was limping took her to the vet they did cray and said it was a torn ligament suggested surgery 3000 to 8000 gave her metacam and she is 9 two months later i stopped the meds as someone told me the metacam is bad for the kidneys and she is not limping and happy i did get her to loose some weight as she was overweight hope you get a second opinion and your fur baby gets better

My frenchie had an injury in her back and we kept her in a small area and got a red light therapy from Amazon and it has helped. Might help or might not but worth 100 bucks to try it

Try Vancouver island veterinary services on Dallas road. Dr. sukhiani was amazing with my bulldog.

Oh Jaime! That's so scary! I had a similar experience recently where my dog jumped off the bed and hurt herself twice! Same gabapentin and trazadone. I put a heat pad on her painful leg for the first couple of days and it helped! Massage. Heat. Very little exercise. Don't let the vet have you believe everything they said. Get another opinion and trust in your instincts! Prayers for a speedy recovery 🙏

They’re wrong. They need to do radiographs at minimum.

Get a second opinion. Don’t tell them what this vet told you until they give you their diagnosis. Plus please do a deep dive into Gabapentin.

I spent over $6000 in the last four months my dog was alive, trying to prolong the inevitable - find out exactly why he was getting worse - my vet gave me every option from most expensive to least expensive in every single circumstance… I feel like this is bad practice from your vet. I should also mention my dog was a staffy cross at 13 years old.
