Continuo assim, mesmo que já tenham vacilado comigo, magoado ou até destruído meu coração, eu jamais desejaria fazer a mesma coisa com outra pessoa que tentaria fazer algo por mim (ou não).

He asked a psychologist why his girlfriend needs so much reassurance, why she's
He asked a psychologist why his girlfriend needs so much reassurance, why she's "always got to be babied." The answer had almost nothing to do with him. She texts twice and watches the phone. She reads a whole mood into a three-word reply. She asks "are we okay?" when nothing is actually wrong. He thinks he's failing her somehow. He isn't. Because underneath that anxiety, most of the time, there's no wish to control him and no plan to drain him. There's a large, old fear of losing the person in front of her. Somewhere early, she learned that love goes quiet without warning. That warmth today can turn to cold tomorrow with no explanation. So her nervous system started doing the only thing it knew: scanning constantly for danger, listening for the footsteps of someone leaving. And that scanning got a cruel nickname: "needy." This is why no amount of texting ever fills it. The hole isn't in the present, so present-tense reassurance runs straight through it. It's water through a cracked cup: soothing for an hour, empty again by night. It doesn't make her broken. It means that for too long, safety simply wasn't there, and a body remembers that far longer than a mind does. What actually helps is almost boringly unglamorous: showing up the same way, day after day, until her system finally stops flinching at closeness. And don't take the anxiety personally, because it isn't a verdict on you. You could be the safest person she's ever met and the scanning would still run for a while. It was installed long before your name was ever in her phone. You're not failing some test. It's an old alarm finishing its last few rounds. She doesn't need you to prove it once, grandly. She needs you to be predictable a hundred ordinary times. And the good news, for anyone living inside this: it can absolutely be worked with. ... She's not asking for more love. She's asking for proof the floor won't disappear under her again.
