Joseph Tosin Oladoyinbo :
Albendazole is a commonly used medicine for treating intestinal worm infections. The correct dose depends on your age and the type of worm being treated.
For routine deworming in adults and children 2 years and older:
Take 400 mg by mouth as a single dose.
For children 12–23 months:
200 mg as a single dose is commonly recommended.
How to take it:
Swallow the tablet with water. If it's chewable, you can chew it before swallowing.
It can be taken with or without food, but taking it with a meal (especially one containing some fat) may improve absorption and reduce stomach upset.
No fasting or laxatives are needed.
Some infections (such as tapeworm, strongyloidiasis, neurocysticercosis, or hydatid disease) require different doses and treatment durations, so you should only use those regimens under medical supervision.
Possible side effects include mild stomach pain, nausea, headache, or dizziness. If you develop a severe allergic reaction, persistent vomiting, yellowing of the eyes or skin, or other concerning symptoms, seek medical attention promptly.
If you tell me:
your age,
your weight (if it's for a child), and
whether you're taking it for routine deworming or for a diagnosed worm infection,
I can give more specific guidance.
