@emilyjordan51: As a little girl, I sat on my couch watching Ghost Adventures, completely captivated by the stories of Poveglia Island. I never could have imagined that in this lifetime I'd not only travel to Italy, but actually set foot on the very island that sparked so much curiosity in me very much making me the woman I am today especially in the paranormal field. Standing there was surreal. Knowing my ancestors came from Italy made the experience feel even more personal, like I was connected to this country in a way I can't fully put into words. Walking through a place forever marked by the tragedy of the Black Plague was incredibly emotional. The silence, the history, and the weight of everything that happened there is something l'll never forget. The boat ride over, watching Poveglia slowly come into view, gave me chills. Then stepping off onto the island with only six of us there felt almost unreal. We wandered through the dense forest, explored the abandoned buildings, and took in every moment of a place that so few people ever get to experience. Out of everything I did in Italy, this was by far my favorite day. Not because it was haunted, but because it reminded me that sometimes the dreams that stay with you from childhood really do come true.
