@fiftyfortytravel: The first interior step in our camper van conversion: Sound deadening. 🚐🔧 Before adding insulation or walls, we wanted to reduce road noise and vibrations to create a quieter, more comfortable van to drive and live in. Our van came with some factory-installed vibration damping pads, but we added: 3mm butyl sound-deadening mats on the larger body panels and wheel wells. 2mm mats over the factory dampening pads for extra vibration control. Contrary to what you might think, you only need about 20–40% coverage on large, flat metal panels to effectively reduce vibrations—you don’t have to cover every inch. Next up: Havelock Wool insulation to help regulate temperature and further reduce road noise. One step closer to our dream camper! 🚐 #CamperVanConversion #VanBuild #VanLife #DIYCamper #CamperVan
