In German high speed trains the seats tell you from which to which station the seat is reserved, so i still sit on reserved seats as long as my journey doesn’t interfere with theirs

The tiktok was just a joke. We would have moved if we were in someone’s seat. We did buy tickets but we didn’t manage to reserve a seat as they were sold out.

This is in Berlin? DB ICE train? Don't be trolls. Seats have small screens in their trains. If seat is reserved, there is a light on that screen saying until what city seat is reserved. If you have no reservation, just look to sit somewhere where screens are off. Those seats aren't reserved at all.
