@evie_brooks: Basically, I can’t be trusted 🧾 Ok, I know this isn’t like a proper like for like experiment and I didn’t NEED a lot of this stuff… but that’s my whole point 🤷‍♀️ What works for one family doesn’t always work for another 🫣 I have ADHD, and my dopamine demon THRIVES off overspending in supermarkets 👹 I also can’t get everything I need here 🫠 And I find the quality of the fresh food to not be great so I end up buying it more often 🍓 So no, Aldi is not cheapest for my family and that’s ok 🤷‍♀️ I would love for it to be normal for people to just be able to spend our money how they see fit for their families and not get judged on it 😬 That would be nice wouldn’t it 🙄 And I’m not saying shopping in Aldi is wrong, if it works for your family then that’s amazing. But let’s not forget that every family that’s different needs and cheapest doesn’t always mean best 🛒 Where do you shop and why? Let’s normalise spending money where’s best for you 💞 Follow for budgeting tips that actually work for ADHD brains and busy mum life 💸🤍

I’ve switched to Sainsburys recently and with nectar prices it’s cheaper then Aldi and the quality is much better. Simple math there😅

Could we see what was in your basket online at Sainsbury’s though because I guarantee it wasn’t as much as what was in your trolley 🤣

Why not just look at the strawberries? In my country they don’t put dates on them

Your shopping trolley packing system is stressing me out. Fruit at the bottom and then throwing everything else on top? 😳

Was that like for like at Aldi ? You did buy a lot of snacks , which isn’t a criticism! Just an observation! That’s where the money goes 😉

This would only work if you took your Sainsbury’s list and stuck to it, I find Aldi produce not as good, but I prefer Tesco

I’ve just changed form Tesco to Sainsbury’s and it’s actually brought my food bill down!! And the quality is far superior. Tesco’s meat was going out of date after 2-3 days even wayy before its best before date an the fruit and veg was just nasty

Honestly I am the same! Tesco home delivery for the win. I always spend more in Aldi, end up getting more rubbish/snacks and the fruit and veg never last as long xx

I always shop in either Sainsbury’s or Tesco , went to Aldi a few weeks ago and within about 2 days all the fresh produce had basically turned to mush

I’ve found that Aldi is the same price as Tesco mostly, and they don’t any rewards or points so I stick to Tesco. I’ve managed to save up £37 worth of points so far, and then I use it towards the Christmas food shop.

I try to shop around (still can’t get our budget under £500 a month, please someone help!). So I get certain things from basically every supermarket, including farmfoods. Try to bulk buy things we definitely use when they’re on offer too. But I have found that Tesco is way overpriced, the meat in Asda is terrible, Aldis fruit and veg goes off super quick and M&S is far superior for the basics! It’s about spending wisely, no point in saving a couple of pounds for the food to go bad in a day or two and then have to buy it again!
