Our discussions centered on the immediate and seamless implementation of the historic directive issued by the President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto. The President’s affirmation that Northern Kenya is an integral part of this nation—and that our people are entitled to equal treatment under the law—marks a turning point in our region's history. 1. End of Discriminatory Vetting We wholeheartedly welcome and commend the President’s directive to eliminate the burdensome, discriminatory, and unnecessary extra vetting that has historically frustrated our youth during the issuance of National Identity Cards. Equal Dignity: A citizen from Marsabit deserves the exact same rights, speed of service, and dignity as a citizen from Central, Western, Rift Valley, Coast, Nyanza, or any other part of Kenya.
