What we lose with sound we’ll gain with a shit ton of torque

Toyota is being quite bold here but, in a sense, it still respects the real spirit of the OG LFA. When Toyota made the original LFA, it wasn’t the fastest, nor fastest accelerating, nor best looking, nor most featured supercar on the market. Toyota just went with a no-frills approach to make the best goddamn supercar they could. I feel like this new LFA matches that spirit; there’s no frills attatched, it’s just meant to be the best goddamn electric supercar. Whether or not they’ve pulled that off… well, I think that remains to be seen.

Ruined it completely. What made the LFA? The sound.

I LOVE Evs, but Solid state batteries are still too far away. I think toyota is promising too much with this one.

ruined what made the LFA enjoyable for all levels of enthusiasts and car enjoyers. whether youre broke or rich, you could appreciate and share in the experience of what the LFA sounded like. now you cant unless you got the cash to sit in one.

I mean It looks like it's going to be pretty cool, but they shouldn't have called it an LFA

I feel as though this was a missed opportunity to call it something like the LFE. Still identifies itself in the Lexus lineup as a flagship and future technologies product without having to rest on the LFAs laurels

It's gonna be a game changer. Solid state batteries are genuinely a quantum leap forward.

I doubt cold weather matters that much. Most people that could afford this most likely live in a more sunny place like California. What they should work on is the damn jet engine sound while it’s only idle and hot outside

They should offer a version in both. One with that legendary V10 engine and sound and one that’s fully EV. I bet you the one with the V10 would sell more units!

It makes sense. Go Toyota if you want the gas loud version. Go Lexus if you want the luxury quiet version.

Honestly battery tech is much less sexy than a V10. And it’s not like it’s even the first car with this tech

Just don't call it an LFA and don't use sound clips of the LFA for acceleration noise.

it's a good car but shouldn't be an lfa just like the Mach e. It's good but shouldn't be a mustang

I'm curious as to what the cost of the battery replacement's going to be. I mean, who's gonna shell out forty five grand for new batteries? That's probably what they're going to cost.

This is the beginning for solid state EVs. You better invest now before this is our future
