i actually lost my sht in morning formation once on an actual MSG. Not proud of it, but he crossed a line. i screwed something up a couple days before, and i had gotten an Art15 about a month earlier. i was having a really bad month. I don't really remember exactly what he said, but he used my name in front of the entire company like "dont be like Krabbit" I yelled out "Hey! F You!", paused a sec, and decided to kick his ass! started to walk towards him and was body checked by my Sgt. MSG Dismissed the formation, i went off to my job, never heard nothing about it. I imagine Top chewed him out for the disrespect.

The belief was that by taking off their rank, the altercation became a personal matter rather than one involving differences in authority.

I spent 20 years in...I never picked cigarettes. Once I became a NCO O made sure it was always the smokers who had to do it. And had the smoking area moved further and further away from the barracks everytime I found cigarettes trash

Yeah I didn’t like this whole pick up cigarette butt thing especially when I wasn’t a smoker back then. They should’ve had all the smokers pick up their own damn butts

I pulled the religious exemption card the one time I was told to do it. NCO gave me shit but I was pretty well known as someone who didnt smoke or drink so it was pretty easy to convince him.

I’m confused, I thought vets always preached about rank and respect yet this is the 3rd TT I’ve seen where E3 flat out tells E6 to F of. I’m not in the military just a military brat. I’m not pretending I am, I’m not criticizing I’m just wondering how they get away with it. My dad would have beat my a$$ if I disrespected any rank or adult for that matter.

I spent 22 years in the Army as a mechanic 3 years ago. I do remember seeing E-2 - E-4’s not giving no fucks when told what to do. The new generation of troops are not how they used to be back in the day. I have seen many, many troops cursed out top ranked soldiers & not giving a fuck about what happens next. It was time for me to retire once seeing that.
