@theryanexperience: What happened to Sheraton Hotels? Many don’t know this but it was very often considered a luxury hotel brand, and was the first western hotel to operate in China. A global, important player. Now? It feels like a shell of itself, a hotel your grandparents visit to capitalize on point redemptions. Here’s a very brief story on what happened. #hospitality #hotels #hotel #sheraton

W Hotel is like as if you asked ChatGPT to design a “cool” hotel for Gen Xers who grew up in a bomb shelter

Sheraton is such a gamble. Might still be a 5 star hotel, might be worse than a Motel 6 in the sketchy part of town

At the beginning my reaction was "I know what a Sheraton Hotel is!" and then I remembered I'm over 30 now 😭

A lot of brands in the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio needs to be absorbed into existing successful brands. Anything below JW, Ritz Carlton, and EDITION needs to be consolidated into about 10 brands instead of the existing 30. There’s no reason for Moxy and Aloft to exist next to each other.

The Sheratons by me aren’t luxury at all. They’re old buildings that need to be renovated.

I used to love Sheraton when it was Starwoods. When it became Marriott it was clear it was the red-headed step child. Now every time I stay at one I feel like I'm visiting a nursing home.

Marriott just seems to be the main problem for a lot of hotels who once had an identity/culture…. One of the many problems with monopolies

I would absolutely thrive in an old school Sheraton with glass block walls and an atrium and giant tiled fountain in the lobby. I yearn for the 80s

We have the Sheraton Addis in Ethiopia owned by our billionaire Mohammed Al Amoudi. Did he buy the brand name?

Luxury US hotel brands no longer exist; the service & lack of attention-to-detail in W & RC is embarrassing. Only Asian brands have any concept of luxury these days. Marriot is just a modern day holiday inn equivalent

When I think of Sheraton, I think of = convention, business trip, and you’re right - the Sheratons near me, are off the freeways and old

St. Regis leaned into the old world European luxury style. W is sleek and Uber modern in design and amenities. Sheraton from a Google search looks like any other mid tier hotel

I work in hospitality and very few in the industry understand what hospitality is. They only understand profit. Totally lost the plot.

Huh! I’m mid 40s, never knew they had a luxury background, always associated them as a mid-tier hotel like Marriot and Ramada. Better than staying at a motel 6 or best Westin.
