What exactly did we just witness in the World Cup 3rd and 4th place match between England and Spain? It felt like the game and the goals were completely predetermined, with each side just taking turns allowing the other to score. Ten goals in such a high-stakes encounter? What I experienced was less of a competitive match and more of an exhibition game just to entertain people, especially since neither side had anything left to lose. Is it fair to say that? Watching the game, it felt more like a training session than a World Cup fixture. I was completely unimpressed; the whole thing seemed scripted and, frankly, unworthy of watching. I mean, how can a team go up by four goals in the first half and then concede three back before the 70th minute? The ball only had to be kicked toward the keeper, and the next thing you knew, it was a goal. Really? Hahaha. I guess they just wanted a disappointed player from the other team to rack up more goals to win the Golden Boot. There was absolutely no seriousness displayed by either squad. It seemed like they had lost their drive before the match even kicked off. There was no intensity, no pressing, and no sign that either side actually wanted to play and win. One team scores, and the next minute the other answers right back. Is this the worst game of the tournament so far? Hopefully so. Well, that’s none of our business though, as both Argentina and Spanish fans. The ultimate is what we are all waiting for in tomorrow's final game, and it's a win-win for us no matter the outcome.
