my only qualm was that david jonsson is too handsome. all the boys are physically deteriorating as they advance and david’s just there slaying

Judy Greer is such a marvel in it too. I think I started crying the second she grabbed Ray back at the beginning and didn’t stop until I was home from the theater

Absolutely agree on David Johnson, magnetic is a great way to describe him. He was such a standout in Alien Romulus, I walked out wanting to see him in 20 more movies

I didn't mind the ending change, the only change that bothered me was the lack of crowds through the whole walk. in the book it felt like an ever present crescendo building to the end.

they ask David Jonnson's character if he has a gf and theres a significant beat after he warmly says "no." the subtext is really apparent

SPOILERS, tbh i feel like the book ending doesn't work as well for the movie, bc in the book ray has mentally built up this animosity towards stebbins and once theyre the last two, ray's mind is so fractured that the only thing keeping him going is the "i'm going to walk you into the ground" vs the movie its more compelling for these two boys who've built this comrady/love that they want to have more time with each other and THAT is what keeps them going, its so beautiful

I didn’t like this one and thought it was boring, but then I was like ya I guess a movie called the long walk about a long walk would be pretty boring

I turned this on at 11pm and couldn’t stop watching until the end. Needless to say I was tired, but I thought this was worth it.

the long walk is my favorite king novel and im so so glad the film adaptation was so good. i was worried about it just completely missing the mark because we all know how often that happens with stephen king adaptations, but it nailed it for me :)
