When I bought these Allbirds I was fairly skeptical. In my experience, a product that’s advertised as “sustainable” or “green” or “eco-friendly” is typically lacking in a bunch of other practical terms. I didn’t spend the last 4.5 years testing these shoes to make this video, but I think it’s an interesting look into how they held up. I’ve said this a hundred times but it doesn’t matter how sustainable or plastic free something claims to be if the product itself sucks. Functionality and durability will always be more important in my opinion than some fancy innovative material that a marketing team is promoting. Ideally my next pair of shoes will be something zero drop (maybe barefoot?) to try.
