I feel an obsession with remaining young leads to a predatory interest in younger people, typically romantic interest, because to the predator they're thinking "if this person thinks I'm cool and desirable then I. just still be young and hip". it's just a theory, but it's something I was thinking about with all the discourse of millennials trying to prove they're not cringe and that they're still cool and young anytime they feel like they're being called old... like personally I don't feel the desire to appeal to anyone more than 5 years younger than me, and if they think I'm cool or seem younger then neat and if they don't then that's okay. I'd rather be cringe weird instead of borderline pedo weird 🤢
