As a canes fan I have no ill will towards him. I saw one of his games, think it was his first as a cane against the islanders, it all worked out so I can’t be mad. We got our cup and that was the goal, with or without him. Wish him the best in his career

As an Avs fan, I couldn't be happier for Mikko. He knocked us out with a hatty after the trade. The only acceptable retribution for that was the Canes winning the cup without Rantanen the next year. Congrats Caniacs, you deserved this and showed what a great TEAM looks like. The cherry on top was Dallas having to watch Stankoven be instrumental in the cup win. All that said, MacFarland and Sakic fumbled the Rantanen situation and should have never been traded.

Also Rantanen got traded for Stankoven who was awesome for them and seems like a great character to have around. Knew of Stankoven in Kamloops when he played junior. It worked out for the canes
