@innerworldtherapy: Motivating kids with ADHD with PINCH: Hurry technique! This is part 5 and the last video of our series about the PINCH technique! Do you know someone who procrastinates or do you do it too? This is actually an adaptation to motivate us to get stuff done! The urgency of time constraints makes extra dopamine for the brain to absorb and make getting through chores or unwanted tasks more bearable! #childmentalhealth #mindfulparenting #adhdtok #neurodivergenttiktok #chores
My 7 year old daughter just got diagnosed with ADHD. We are looking to get her into an extracurricular that can boost confidence and self-esteem and also get some of that ADHD energy out. Do you have any reccs?

I just found your page. PINCH gives so many great ideas! I do some of this already. It’s good to understand why it works and I’m going to try some new things you suggested and use this more often now that I know it’s a real thing ❤️❤️❤️

Racing works wonders for my little. If she doesn't want to brush her teeth I always say I'll race you to the bathroom 😂

Do you have any resources on appropriate diagnosis for children? I work with children but this has been the most challenging part! I feel like school did not talk about this enough

My 4 yo will not listen to me when I ask, but when I gamify it and start a 10 second countdown she gets active instantly!

Hi! My 7 year old daughter is 2e- gifted and extreme ADHD. I find when I try to turn a timer on she absolutely melts- she hates a timer or time limit. Any advice for this? It’s almost like she KNOWS I’m tricking her to hurry and it gets worse!!!

What about not rising to the occasion? And that feeling of failure after?

Any thoughts on how to teach kids with ADHD how to handle lecture style teaching as they get older in school?

Omg THANK YOU. My 11 year old is VERY unmotivated and I get it’s the ADHD but I don’t understand how to deal with it from an understanding prospective but also parenting and not letting her struggle! Thanks!

Yes! I always “race” my 8 yo to do something. Race to shower first, race to get downstairs for breakfast, race to the car if he doesn’t want to leave the park 😂 it’s great

My daughter has ADHD too, 7. She does not like being hurried it makes her feel pressured and makes everything worse. She can express to me that she is feeling pressured. What works for us is I say I want her to put a timer in Alexa for when she will start the task. We have agreed that when she is doing the task we take away distractions to help her not get distracted. Because she has put the timer herself when the alarm rings she starts the task. And because she wants to watch TV or whatever she will get through the task. I’ve also added a check your own work, I usually motivate her ahead of checking that she has very high standards so she must evaluate things according to her high standards. It avoids her rushing through the task, when she re-checks she fixes a lot of stuff she has fixed then only when she is happy I come and check. Praise her effort and I show her the small fixes to make thing “even better”
