@ilanaslibrary: I swear, people on this app get more and more bean soup by the day #BookTok #scandal #controversy #reading #bookish

✩ MATZ ✩ :

crooked.books doesn’t read all her books and has openly admitted to faking reviews on arcs. You can search her user + controversy and find videos on it

𝓔𝓿𝓮𝓵𝔂𝓷ུ ❃ :

It’s calireadss all over again 😭

Grix the Dragon :

I read the books. Remembering them was never included in the contract.

Aimee🤍 :

I saw someone say Marianna doesn’t actually read the books because she rated a book 2 stars instead of 5💀

Brooke🫶🏻 :

“They recommend all these books that are terrible and that’s how you know they didn’t actually read it” maybe we all have different taste

Marianna :

Alisha 🇵🇷 :

Im a library director. I regularly have patrons, especially older patrons who aren’t on TikTok, take out and read 6 books a week. There are people who are fast readers and get through multiple books. There are people, like me, who are slower readers. There should be no shame for either one. We’re all readers ❤️

ARenee🖤 :

When I saw her name pop up

Ess Reads :

😭 why is it so toxic here on booktok

Kortney📚 :

they say marianna and it drives me nuts because she updates good reads religiously! not to mention its so obvious she does read. shes very consistent with which genres she does love.

Nitalia ♡ :

this is literally THEIR JOB. Of course they have time to read all day everyday 😭

𝒱𝒾𝓋𝒾𝒶𝓃 🍂 :

We’re too invested in other people’s lives…

kristina.reads1117 :

I am not a content creator and I typically read 100+ books a year with a full time job and two kids. I don’t watch television and I don’t have other dedicated hobbies. It is not crazy that people read that much.

Renee Ann :

100 books a year is only about 2 books a week there are some books that I can read in a day or two not that hard

ℭ𝔩𝔬𝔲𝔡𝔶 ℭ𝔥𝔞𝔭𝔱𝔢𝔯𝔰 📚 :

Is it just me that once I read a book and move on I completely forget about character names and even sometimes the whole story? 😐

s_ben823 :

I think definitely it comes down to the fact that people don’t understand you have more time to read when we get off our phones (guilty). I put my phone down for a day and finished a book and a half in 12 hours.

nick_at_nite_7_but spooky 🎃 :

Well it’s because people claim to read 200+ books a year. Not to mention the fact that they say the sameeeee things for certain books like they are paid to endorse them 😂

🚔🛢️Kiley🥔🎐 :

Their proof: they read too much and because I can’t read that much it’s fake.

karie_karolie :

I read books but sometimes I forget the information

N015_$h :

people are so jealous of others reading speed GROW UPPP

TDenise🌙🥀 📚 :

booktok is ruined now, the recommendations im getting are soooo bad

Cecilia N Mpinge :

booktok shouldn't be so toxic

Wendy Hoffman :

Why does it matter if someone (other than yourself) is or isn't actually reading a book? Don't these people have other things to worry about? Like the age old question of "what's for dinner tonight?". I know that one pisses me off daily.

user0121D :

In all fairness, Half of them listen to audio books 😅
