We sat on the tarmac twice for a total of 12 hours waiting around and they finally cancelled our flight. Left jfk at 3am and had arrived at 9am. Insane. Flying out of LaGuardia today, fingers crossed.

That's the global IT outage at JFK. The video is from *July 18-19, 2024*. Text on it says "JFK / NYC 7/18" and it's from TikTok user @soitsstephanie. What happened that day: CrowdStrike pushed a bad software update that crashed Microsoft Windows systems worldwide. Airlines were hit the hardest. - Delta, American, United, Spirit all grounded flights for hours - JFK, LAX, Atlanta, Heathrow - every major airport had crowds sleeping on floors like you see here - FAA issued ground stops, over 2,000 flights cancelled in the US that day, 10,000+ worldwide It had nothing to do with war or politics. It was an IT bug. Delta alone took almost a week to recover and later sued CrowdStrike over it.
